Eligibility: Candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD).

Shortlisting (Stage 1): Candidates securing the minimum cut-off (85 percentile for General category, Sectional: VARC-80, DILR-80, QA-75) in the CAT exam are shortlisted for Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The actual cut-off may range from the 98th to the 99th percentile. Shortlisting includes CAT score (56% weightage), 10th (10%), 12th (15%), and gender diversity (4%).

Final Selection (Stage 2): Merit list for admission to IIM Calcutta is prepared based on WAT and PI (56% weightage), CAT score (30%), work experience (8%), and academic diversity (6%). PI, i.e., Personal Interview and WAT, are usually conducted in February-March. The final list is then released in April.

IIM Calcutta Cut Off: CAT score for admission to IIM Calcutta

Minimum cut-off: 85th percentile for the general category, but actual cut-off can be as high as 98-99th percentile. Top IIMs (A, B, C) usually require a 99+ percentile.

Rank estimation: 99th percentile in CAT is required to be in the top 1-2% rank (around 2000-3000 ranks). More than 2.5 lakh candidates take the CAT every year.
