These guidelines have been issued for all government schools, government-aided schools, and privately recognized schools in Delhi. Schools have been ordered that there should be provision of clean and clean drinking water for the children, in which the RO system and water cooler must be in working condition. The guidelines for classes state that all classes must have adequate ventilation and working fans.

Schools have been instructed that water breaks should be given to students from time to time and fire extinguishers should be in working condition in the corridors of the school. School teachers should also encourage children to wear caps, and umbrellas or cover their heads with dupattas. They should also tell them that no student, parent, or staff member should sit in the open sun or stay in the sun for too long.

Encourage children to protect themselves from heat.

Schools have been told that they have to tell children how to treat heat-related diseases. For example, in case of problems due to heat, ORS and first aid should be provided. If any health-related condition arises, reporting to the nearest health center or hospital will be mandatory. Special attention will be given to general hygiene in schools.
