Won in Mathematics and Computer, also strong in English; UP shines in the field of skills

The youth of Uttar Pradesh have secured the first position in the country in Mathematics and Computer Skills in the India Skills Report 2025.

The youth of Uttar Pradesh have once again proved that based on hard work, dedication, and talent, they are second to none in the country. According to the India Skills Report 2025, 80% of the youth of UP rank first in the country in mathematical skills and computer proficiency. Not only this, UP is also among the top states in the country in the number of youth wishing to do critical thinking and internships.

However, Uttar Pradesh has to be content with the third position in English proficiency, where Maharashtra is first and Karnataka is second. The report states that in the case of youth in the age group of 18 to 25 years, UP ranks first in the country in terms of employment resource capacity, while in the category of 26 to 29 years, UP has got the third position.

According to the report, after Tamil Nadu, the most youth choose Uttar Pradesh for internships, which makes it clear that a strong network of opportunities as well as skill development is being created in the state.

The Global Employability Test (GATE), conducted by ETS Wheebox, presents the data for this report. This test assesses the employability skills of students and professionals around the world, including India.

Top position in computer skills too

UP has secured the first position in mathematical skills, beating Andhra Pradesh. In this list, Madhya Pradesh is third, Punjab fourth, and Telangana fifth. At the same time, UP has also got the top position in computer skills, leaving behind the whole country.

Talking about employment availability data, UP is at the sixth position. In this list, Maharashtra is at the first, Delhi second, and Karnataka third. However, UP has registered a big achievement by placing itself in the top six, leaving behind states like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

Lucknow included in this list

Interestingly, now Lucknow has also been included in the list of cities that provide maximum employment in the country. Like Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Thrissur, Hyderabad and Guntur.
