In a comment left under a news post, Lee Dong Wook showed his support for President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment, saying, “You all did well.” His comment caught the attention of fans and the general public, many of whom praised the actor for voicing the sentiment of South Korean citizens.

But not everyone appreciated Lee’s comment. Singer JK Kim Dong Wook — who is not related to the actor but shares his name — took to social media to call him out. Under the same post, he questioned whether Lee really understood the implications of the impeachment, writing, “Do you even know what this means?”

In his criticism of The Divorce Insurance actor, the singer didn’t hold back, even saying he was embarrassed to share the same name. “I’m ashamed that my name is the same as yours,” he wrote.

The singer also shared frustration over the country's future, saying that South Korea might “collapse faster than expected”.

JK Kim Dong Wook’s reaction didn’t go over well with a lot of people. Many netizens pointed out that he holds Canadian citizenship and questioned why he was getting involved in Korean political debates. Others criticised his ongoing public support for the now-impeached president, saying it’s out of touch with public sentiment.

​In the wake of President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment, numerous South Korean celebrities have publicly expressed their support for this political change.

Singer Park Hyo Shin conveyed his sentiments by posting, "I pray that today brings comfort to all of us." Additionally, singer IU and Girls' Generation's Yuri demonstrated their solidarity by providing food and hand warmers to citizens attending the impeachment rally.

Son Ye Jin, director Bong Joon Ho, and Jun Ji Hyun were among other celebrities who had signed a petition calling for the South Korean president's impeachment.
