New Delhi [India], May 19 (ANI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested one more insurgent in the 2024 Manipur case relating to the heinous murder of a woman and burning and looting of houses in a village in Jiribam district of the state, the agency said on Monday.
Rajkumar Maipaksana was arrested from Kerala's Kannur district and has been allowed transit remand by the NIA Special Court, Kochi, for production before the Imphal NIA court.
Hailing from Jiribam district, NIA said, Rajkumar is associated with the proscribed insurgent group People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK). "He was among the key perpetrators of the crime, in which a woman, Zosangkim, was massacred and several houses were set afire and looted in Zairawn village in November 2024."
NIA had last week arrested two other accused insurgents, belonging to different insurgent outfits, in the case (RC-13/2024/NIA/IMP).
The Central anti-terror agency said it is continuing with its investigations and is hunting for the other perpetrators of the horrendous crime. (ANI)
