India Women won their 12th consecutive ODI match by defeating Pakistan Women in Match No. 6 of the Womenโs World Cup 2025 at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, on Sunday, October 5. Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, India posted a total of 247/10 in 50 overs. Harleen Deol top-scored with 46 runs, while wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh made an unbeaten 35 off 20 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues (32), Pratika Rawal (31), and other contributors chipped in with valuable runs to set a competitive target.
From the Pakistan bowling attack, Diana Baig took 4/69, while Sadia Iqbal (2/47) and captain Fatima Sana (2/38) applied pressure to prevent India from crossing the 250-run mark.
Chasing 248, Pakistan lost both openers cheaply, with Muneeba Ali scoring two and Sadaf Shamas six. Sidra Amin and Natalia Pervaiz offered some resistance, putting together a 69-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Amin scored a resilient 81 riding her luck as she was dropped thrice, while Pervaiz contributed 33. However, no other batter could make a significant impact.
Indian bowlers ensured Pakistan did not settle, with Kranti Gaud (3/20), Sneh Rana (2/38), and Deepti Sharma (3/45) sharing the wickets. The victory gave India two more points in the World Cup standings, moving them to the top of the table, while Pakistan Women remained in sixth position.
