Assets Worth ₹56 Lakhs Earned With 'Drug Supply' To Be Attached; Teams Search Properties Of Three Men, Make Inventory

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In what could be the first such action in the state, the Indore Police has started making a list of assets of alleged drug suppliers in the city.

Recently, it searched the houses of three people, arrested in connection with the supply of drugs, and made an inventory of their assets to attach them later. The assets cumulatively add up to Rs 56.69 lakh. One of the accused hails from Bhopal. The three men were arrested in separate cases under the NDPS Act. 

According to DCP (Crime) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi, on the instruction of the commissioner of police, Santosh Kumar Singh, the Crime Branch is taking action against drug smugglers to attach their assets under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The assets, illegally purchased with money acquired through alleged drug smuggling, would be attached through the court.    

A Crime Branch team searched the house of Akash Jain, a resident of Malviya Nagar in Bhopal. Jain has been running a wholesale business of regulated drugs since 2011.He, along with his accomplices, was arrested in January 2025 for allegedly supplying 9.30 lakh Alprazolam tablets. Moinuddin, Shavez, Amar Singh, and Aman Rawat were also arrested.

The Crime Branch has prepared an inventory of Jain’s assets worth Rs 21 lakh. The assets comprise two flats, two shops, gold ornaments, a two-wheeler vehicle, a refrigerator, a cooler, a TV, a washing machine, and an almirah (the price of the property and gold is according to the registry and invoice).     

Elsewhere, a Crime Branch team searched and prepared an inventory of assets belonging to the accused, Sameer alias Sandy, a resident of Azad Nagar. He was arrested for supplying drugs in the area in November 2024. Twelve criminal cases, including NDPS, theft, Arms Act, etc., are registered against him. His two houses, two two-wheeler vehicles, refrigerator, cooler, and TV, etc., valued at Rs 26.52 lakh, were added to the inventory. 

Another Crime Branch team searched the residence of Mohsin alias Chhipa Mansuri, a resident of Dhar. He was arrested in January 2025 with drugs. His accomplices Shahrukh, Yusuf, and Shakil were also arrested in connection with the case. The inventory of his assets comprises his house, refrigerator, cooler, TV, washing machine, almirah, etc., worth Rs 9.17 lakh.
