Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A driver of an auto rickshaw allegedly molested a woman sitting on a moving scooter with her friend in Tilak Nagar police station area on Sunday evening.

The woman was going home when the auto driver came from behind on his vehicle and touched her inappropriately with bad intentions. The police have registered a case against the accused for sexual harassment on the complaint of the woman.

According to the police, a 26-year-old woman lodged a complaint stating that she was going home from Geeta Nagar with her friend on her two-wheeler. Her friend was riding the vehicle and she was sitting on the pillion seat.

As soon as they reached near Shri Krishna Public School, Tilak Nagar, the driver of an auto-rickshaw (MP-09-R-5628) came driving his vehicle from behind and touched her back and waist with bad intentions and asked her to come along. She cried for help and the accused fled with his vehicle.

Five detained with counterfeit notes

The crime branch reportedly detained five people staying in a hotel with counterfeit notes worth Rs 50,000. However, the officials have not disclosed it officially.

According to the sources, the crime branch detained five people with counterfeit notes and seized a colour printer, lamination sheet, paper sheet used for printing notes, laptop, ATM card and other items.

The suspects told police during interrogation that they had come to Indore for personal work and were staying in the hotel.

It is noteworthy that a few months ago, Lasudia police arrested a youth with counterfeit notes who had confessed to spending Rs 77,000 in the market.

Gujarat man dupes city grain trader of Rs 14.85L, booked

Malharganj police registered a case against a man from Gujarat for defrauding a grain trader in city of Rs 14.85 lakh, police said on Monday. The accused contacted the grain trader by taking the number from IndiaMart portal and duped him under the pretext of providing huge profits.

According to the police, grain trader Kapil Bhavsar, a resident of Dalia Patti, lodged a complaint against Hardik Bhadra of Vardhman Enterprises Panchvati Society, Valsad, Gujarat. Kapil said that Hardik lured him with the promise of big business. Accordingly, Kapil sent 15 tonnes of Kabuli chana worth Rs 14.85 lakh 85 to Vardhman Enterprises Gujarat, but Hardik did not pay the amount.

The police registered a case against the accused under sections 318(4) and 351(2) of the BNS, and further investigation is underway.
