Sunny Deol's Jaat collected a strictly average amount at the box office during its first extended weekend. In four days, the film collected Rs. 40.25 crore, which was a bit disappointing, as it was expected that during the weekend, the movie would mint Rs. 50 crore. Now, all eyes are on weekdays, and Monday was crucial for the movie. However, it did quite well at the box office on day 5. In fact, the collection on Monday was a bit better than Friday.
According to Sacnilk, on day 5, Jaat collected Rs. 7.25 crore, bringing the five-day total to Rs. 47.50 crore. On its second day, Friday, the film collected Rs. 7 crore. If the movie continues to be stable at the box office, the first extended week (eight days) collection can be around Rs. 60 crore,, which isn't amazing but is not even a bad number.
Jaat Budget
However, the Sunny Deol-starrer also needs to do well at the box office during its second week. Reportedly, the movie was made on a budget of Rs. 100 crore, so to surpass the budget, Jaat needs to have a fantastic second weekend and then continue to be stable at the box office during the second week as well.
Jaat Vs Kesari Chapter 2
However, it will be interesting to see whether Jaat will survive at the box office during its second weekend, as Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari Chapter 2 is slated to release on April 18, 2025. So, during its second week, the screen count will be less for the Sunny Deol starter.
The Gopichand Malineni directorial can get the upper hand at the box office only if Kesari 2 turns out to be a bad film and receives negative reviews from the critics and the audiences. However, the trailer of Akshay Kumar starrer has also created a very good pre-release buzz.
