Madhya Pradesh: Farmers To Get Training In Growing Hybrid Crops In Morena

Morena (Madhya Pradesh): Israeli horticulture scientist Uri Robstein announced that cutting-edge agricultural practices will be demonstrated directly in fields to farmers in Morena.

This initiative is part of the Indo-Israel Agriculture-Based Project, operating through the Horticulture Excellence Centre in Nuravad.

During his visit, Robstein shed light on the strong agricultural cooperation between India and Israel. He stated that the primary objective is to establish Agricultural Excellence Centres nationwide and showcase Israeli best practices to help farmers adopt new techniques and equipment to combat climate change challenges.

Nuravad Centre aims to empower local farmers with solutions to future agricultural hurdles, aligning with Prime Minister Modi's 'Developed India 2047' vision.

Project managers will receive intensive training in both open-field and indoor farming techniques, subsequently training selected ‘excellent farmers’ who will then demonstrate these methods to their peers in local languages.

Senior horticulture extension officer Abhishek Mishra also said that the centre is the first of its kind in the state, offering residential training to help farmers adopt Israeli-like horticultural practices, focusing on crops like capsicum, tomato and green chilli for significantly increased yields.
