Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A tragic accident was reported in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district killing four on the spot on Sunday night. Additionally, three remain in critical condition, the police said on Monday.
According to information, a group of seven people from Ingoriya village of Ujjain district were en route to the famous Sanwariya Seth temple in Rajasthan.
This is when their vehicle collided with a container truck near Nimbahera in Chittorgarh district late Sunday night around 10:45 pm.
According to police, the deceased have been identified as Sanju Bhambi (42), Gaurav Kumar Panwar (32), Anil Bhambi (18), and the driver Raja Chaudhary.
Whereas, Deepak Depal (39), Yogesh (20) and Sunil (28) were seriously injured and are currently being treated at a hospital in Udaipur.
6 out of 7 passengers were relatives
It is said that the speeding Scorpio first hit a divider and then went to the wrong side of the road, where it crashed into a truck coming from other side. The impact was so powerful that one side of the vehicle was completely crushed.
Deputy SP Badrilal Rao said that six out of the seven passengers were relatives, aged between 18 and 27. The victims had left their village around 6 pm on Sunday and were nearing their destination when the incident occurred.
After the crash, the injured were taken to Nimbehda’s government hospital and later referred to Udaipur for advanced treatment. The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their families after postmortem.
Police cleared the damaged vehicle and restored traffic on the highway later the same night.
