In a shocking incident from Orai, Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh, a husband has been accused of brutally murdering his wife after suspecting her of having an illicit relationship with their son-in-law. The incident took place on Monday afternoon in Indiranagar, located on Rath Road.
The IncidentThe accused, identified as 60-year-old Ramprakash Verma, a mason by profession, allegedly killed his wife after a heated argument. According to the police, Ramprakash accused his wife of having an affair with his son-in-law, Hemant, who had been living with them since his marriage to their daughter, Neha.
On the morning of the incident, Hemant and Neha had gone out for some work. During this time, Ramprakash confronted his wife, accusing her of the illicit relationship. The argument escalated quickly, and in a fit of rage, Ramprakash grabbed a grinding stone and struck his wife. After committing the crime, he fled the scene.
Discovery and SurrenderThe victim's nephew arrived at the house shortly after the incident and was horrified to find his aunt’s body drenched in blood. He immediately raised the alarm, and with the help of neighbors, the woman was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, Ramprakash, after committing the crime, made his way to the local police station and surrendered. The police recovered the grinding stone used in the murder from the accused’s house, based on his confession.
Investigation and ArrestThe police have taken Ramprakash into custody and are questioning him about the details of the crime. SP Dr. Durgesh Kumar confirmed that the investigation is underway, and further legal action will follow.
This tragic case echoes a recent and similar incident in Aligarh, where a mother-in-law and son-in-law were involved in an illicit relationship, which led to a controversial public outcry. However, this recent incident in Orai has once again shocked the local community and raised serious concerns about domestic issues and violence.
