An American woman in the UK has delivered her verdict after travelling for five hours to try the 'best fish and chips in England.' Content creator @kidsmealprincessregularly shares TikTok videos testing food and drink recommendations shared by her followers. In a recent taste test, the foodie went searching for the best fish and chips she could find in England.

At first, Sarah, the blogger behind the popular account, travelled to Bournemouth to try the English version of the classic dish. As shown in her video, she visited a Harry Ramsden's restaurant. While Sarah loved her visit to the seaside chippy, a commenter suggested another location.

In her Bournemouth video, Sarah told followers: "I'm an American who travelled five hours to go to Bournemouth to try their fish and chips. Let's see how they compare to Orange County. I got a large cod with regular chips, gravy, mushy peas, and curry sauce."

Rating her meal, she shared glowing feedback. Sarah said: "This tastes nothing like California fish and chips, so this is fantastic. I'm giving Harry Ramsden a 10 out of 10. This is phenomenal."

However, a viewer said: "Whitby is the best place for fish and chips." Keen to give it a go, Sarah then travelled to North Yorkshire, and by the sounds of it, she was very impressed by her meal from Trenchers, a traditional fish and chips restaurant.

The foodie told viewers: "I'm an American who traveled five hours to go to Whitby to try the best fish and chips in England. I was told the North are better than the South, so let's see. I was told to try haddock instead of cod, and he told me the difference is that haddock has skin and cod doesn't."

Sarah also tried tartar sauce, pickled gherkins, pickled onions, and a dandelion and burdock drink. Rating her food, Sarah said: "I feel like this is gonna be controversial, but I feel like cod is more posh than haddock because haddock has the skin on it, and I feel like when you take the skin off it's just more posh, but I will say haddock wins. Whitby wins. The North wins."

The video quickly went viral, gaining thousands of likes and comments. One viewer praised: "Whitby is a beautiful place, best place to go for fish and chips." A second agreed: "Whitby is my favourite place for fish and chips! Glad you enjoyed it."

A third echoed: "Whitby is lush," and a fan added: "Yeahhhhh, love Whitby! Northern chippies are elite." Another thought: "Whitby lovely place lovely fish and chips scampi beautiful."

Several fans praised the restaurant, with one writing: "Trenchers all the way." Someone agreed: "Trenchers is a solid solid choice, my grandmothers favourite."

Meanwhile, other viewers shared their own recommendations. One such reply read: "Scarborough is the best place." A different response said: "Scotland is better." Someone else thought: "Whitby the best in England but you have to go to Scotland for the best in the UK."
