Today, Trump has come out with a wild claim that continued drilling in the North Sea would help bring down energy costs in the UK, rather than bring up his petty spat over the view from his golf course.
Trump, on Truth Social, wrote: "Our negotiated deal with the is working out well for all. I strongly recommend to them, however, that in order to get their Energy Costs down, they stop with the costly and unsightly windmills, and incentivize modernized drilling in the North Sea, where large amounts of oil lay waiting to be taken."

Trump also appeared to claim his plan would hugely benefit Aberdeen, which is already known for North Sea oil. He added: "A century of drilling left, with Aberdeen as the hub. The old fashioned tax system disincentivizes drilling, rather than the opposite. U.K.’s Energy Costs would go WAY DOWN, and fast!"
The golf-loving US President started to oppose the wind turbines near his course as early as 2013 and made a series of legal challenges which all failed. This caused a rift to form between Trump and one of his former Scottish allies.
Former First Minister of Scotland, , had previously branded Trump "three times a loser" after he lost his case to stop the turbines being built. The Trump Organisation hit back at Trump's former ally and said: "Does anyone care what this man thinks? He’s a hasbeen and totally irrelevant.
"The fact that he doesn’t even know what’s going on in his own constituency says it all ... He should go back to doing what he does best: unveiling pompous portraits of himself that pander to his already overinflated ego."
This bizarre call from Trump comes as Ofgem announced the by 7% from this July, taking the typical household bill from £1,849 to £1,720 a year.
