Aston Villa have announced that Monchi has left his role as the club's President of Football Operations, but will continue to serve as an advisor to V Sports. Roberto Olabe has immediately stepped into the 57-year-old's shoes, while Damian Vidagany will maintain his position as Director of Football Operations.
Monchi, who held the position for just over two years, is succeeded by Olabe, who parted ways with Real Sociedad earlier this year, where he was their Sporting Director.
Olabe and current Villa manager Unai Emery have a history together, having worked at Almería more than 18 years ago and also made his professional debut for Real Sociedad alongside Emery.

Meanwhile, Monchi wraps up his second stint working with Emery, after previously aiding him in securing three Europa League titles at Sevilla.
In a club statement confirming Monchi's departure and Olabe's appointment, Villa also shared words from the departing recruitment chief.
"I would like to thank everyone connected with Aston Villa for the support and warmth they have shown me since I joined the club, especially Unai and Damian who I have worked especially closely with over these last two years," Monchi expressed.
"I must also thank our owners, Nassef Sawiris, Wes Edens and Michael Angelakis for their confidence and their support. I would also like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Aston Villa as well as the players.
"Lastly, a big thank you to the supporters. We have enjoyed so many special moments together and I look forward to continuing to support V Sports in an advisory role."
