Disney+ is launching sports comedy Chad Powers this week on Tuesday, September 30, featuring Glen Powell as former quarterback legend Russ Holliday who demolishes his career during a crucial match.

Eight years on and desperate to return to the pitch, he masquerades as "Chad Powers" and joins a failing football squad in his quest to reclaim his past success.

Admirers have previously adored watching the 36 year old in romantic comedies such as Anyone But You alongside Sydney Sweeney and 2018's Set It Up with Zoey Deutch.

Glen Powell's dating history Nina Dobrev

Vampire Diaries legend Nina Dobrev marked Powell's first major public romance when dating speculation emerged in January 2017 following their New Year's celebrations with mates in Texas.

He also attended her La La Land themed birthday bash that month, where they costumed themselves as Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling's characters and replicated their iconic stance from the movie.

However, later that year, it emerged that the pair were having some time apart owing to their hectic schedules.

Nevertheless, it appears that they have stayed friends as she turned up to the London premiere of his film Top Gun: Maverick in 2022 with Olympic snowboarder Sean White who she was previously engaged to.

It didn't take too long after his break up from Dobrev for the actor to be linked to Australian TV presenter Renee Bargh.

They were spotted together in November 2018 at his 1980s themed birthday bash which was also attended by Dobrev, Chord Overstreet, John Stamos and other famous faces.

Unfortunately, this wasn't to last as a year later, she told the Daily Mail that she was single and now looking for a "good Aussie boy".

Gigi Paris

Powell was first linked to model Gigi Paris five years ago when they were spotted on a romantic holiday in Mexico but they didn't make their romance Instagram official until a year later.

They were together for three years but it was in April 2023 that their split was confirmed as a source told People: "Gigi and Glen had broken up several times.

"They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long-distance filming, and when she came to Australia [where Powell was filming Anyone But You] they both decided to break up for good."

Sydney Sweeney

Despite both Powell and Sweeney denying any romantic involvement, fans can't help but speculate due to their undeniable on-screen chemistry in Anyone But You.

Sweeney was engaged to producer Jonathan Davino during filming, but they ended their relationship in May 2025. Powell previously told Business Insider that their flirtatious banter increased while promoting the film.
