Indian players continue to dominate the ICC (International Cricket Council) rankings ahead of the 2025 Asia Cup. Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy remain the number 1 T20 batsman and bowler.
Hardik Pandya is also the number 1 T20 all-rounder. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma have also made significant gains.
In this latest ranking, Pakistan's Abrar Ahmed has made a significant jump of 12 places and is now within striking distance of the number 1 spot. He currently sits in fourth place with 703 rating points.
Abrar performed brilliantly in Pakistan's group stage match against the UAE, taking 2 wickets for just 13 runs. However, his performance was mediocre in the loss against India, where he took 1 wicket for 42 runs.
But the leg-spinner regained his form and bowled brilliantly against Sri Lanka, taking 1 for 8. His performance helped Pakistan to victory and put their Asia Cup campaign back on track.
Reclaiming the No. 1 spot will be challenging for Abrar, as Varun Chakravarthy excels in UAE conditions and has strengthened his position with a 14-point rating gain. While he didn't take a wicket in the match against Pakistan, the spinner played a key role in controlling the run rate with an economical spell of 0/25.
Pakistan's Haris Rauf also gained nine places in the bowling rankings, moving up nine places to 28th, while Hardik Pandya jumped six places to 60th.
Abhishek Sharma retained his No. 1 T20I batsman position by gaining a rating point. He scored a quickfire 38 against Oman in the final group stage match, followed by a match-winning 74 on Sunday while chasing Pakistan's target of 171. Tilak Varma helped India to victory with an unbeaten 30 off 19 balls, lifting him one spot to No. 3.
Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan, who scored 58 off 45 balls in the same match, gave his team a solid start and jumped 31 places to 24th. Hussain Talat led Pakistan to victory with a composed innings against Sri Lanka, achieving a record-breaking 1,474 runs to reach joint 234th.
Hardik Pandya No. 1 T20 All-Rounder
All-rounder Faheem Ashraf has jumped 12 places to joint 39th in the T20 all-rounder rankings. Hardik Pandya remains at the top of the list, while Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga has taken four wickets in his most recent two matches and moved up one spot to seventh.
