Vaibhav Suryavanshi, known for his aggressive batting style, recently made headlines not just for his performance but also for a light-hearted exchange that’s now taken on a life of its own. The player he once teased has responded with his bat—and in style.
The cricketer in question is Musheer Khan, who recently smashed a century filled with 24 boundaries, including sixes and fours, while playing for the Mumbai Emerging Team in England. The story behind this century traces back to a fun moment during IPL 2025, when Musheer approached Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his bat.
The exchange took place during a match between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, where the two young talents shared a laugh. When Musheer jokingly asked for Vaibhav’s bat, Vaibhav laughed and replied, “Aren’t you ashamed of asking a junior for a bat?”—a playful jab that fans loved. The video of the moment, full of camaraderie, was later shared on Punjab Kings’ official Instagram account.
But now, Musheer Khan has responded in the most fitting way—by letting his bat do the talking.
On 7 July, during the third match of Mumbai Emerging’s England tour, Musheer hammered 154 runs off 146 balls, with 24 fours and sixes combined, maintaining a strike rate above 105. This was his third century on the tour.
Before this, Musheer had already impressed:
-
On 30 June, he scored 123 runs against Nottinghamshire Second XI (14 fours).
-
On 3 July, he notched 125 runs against the Challengers team (11 fours, 1 six).
Clearly, the bat he once joked about borrowing has helped script a sensational run of form—and Musheer Khan is turning every teasing word into runs that count.
