There has been a new twist in the suicide case of Intelligence Bureau officer Avinash and his sister Anjali, who lived in Govindpuram, Ghaziabad. A 22-page suicide note has been found in Anjali's diary. Miss Ritu Rani and Mr Sukhbir have been blamed for their death.
The suicide case of brother Avinash, who works in IB, and his sister Anjali in Govindpuram, Ghaziabad, has taken a new turn after a suicide note was found. Sister Anjali wrote this suicide note on 22 pages of her diary before committing suicide.
Anjali has written that no one other than Miss Ritu (stepmother) and Mr. Sukhvir Singh (father) are responsible for my death. Mahim (friend) will be the owner of the money and PF lying in my account and Miss Ritu and Mr. Sukhvir Singh should not touch my funeral pyre.
Only Mahim will light my funeral pyre. Anjali has sent the photo of the pages of the suicide note to her father Sukhveer Singh, stepmother, maternal uncle Anil Singh and maternal aunt Rekha Rani on WhatsApp.
These siblings had committed suicide a day before on Thursday. The family members had refused to take any action and the police had said that they had not found any suicide note. However, on Friday, while searching the room, the police found a suicide note written in a diary.
'...because father trusts step mother'
Anjali has written in the note that her father Sukhveer Singh and her mother Ritu harass her mentally for the sake of social customs and empty pride. Sukhveer Singh's explanation in front of Ritu Devi's cleverness is absolutely dishonest. Because her father trusts step mother.
It is further written that... Papa, one does not only have to give birth to a child and pay school fees, one also has to spend time with the child, fulfill his wishes. My brother has got a government job by working hard. He too has been exploited so much that he cannot even go out with his friends. Sukhbir Singh, it does not feel good to call you Papa. You do not have the right to touch my dead body. You have strangled the happiness of your own children for your second marriage. Congratulations to you on your wife.
In the suicide note, Anjali described herself as unfortunate without a mother. She also addressed her maternal uncle Devendra and maternal uncle Anil and wrote that you are relatives but till date you have not enquired about our well-being. She wrote to uncle Anil that his daughter is very good.
'My character was questioned and my father remained silent'
Anjali has written in the suicide note that her stepmother questioned her character, defamed her and spoke ill of her. Even in such a situation, my father remained silent and did not listen to me. Some people will say that I am bad and am writing such things about my parents. I know how I have spent 16 years with my stepmother. Apart from me, my brother also feels the pain of that.
'Do not tear the pages of the diary...if I die alone, questions will be raised on my character'
Anjali warned her step mother in the suicide note that she is aware of your cunningness and cleverness. So do not tear these pages written in the diary. Because I have taken their photo and sent it to many people. Your cleverness will be caught. If I die alone, questions will be raised on my character. Both of us brother and sister are under mental stress. Now live your life with your eyes held high in the society.
'Only my friend understood me'
Anjali wrote that...Mahi, now everything is in your hands, I am leaving this world now. You are the one who cremates me, do not let my parents and others touch the body. You are my well-wisher, I want to gift you something. You can keep all the money in my account, this is my small support.
Give the money from the other account to the people living in H-352 house and my policy as well. The rest is all yours. I am unable to bear the family feud. A relative said that Mahim is Anjali's graphic designer friend and both of them have worked in partnership. However, Anjali was working as a team leader in Noida's Ranwick Export Company for many years.
Mother died after consuming poisonous substance.
After the suicide of Intelligence Bureau officer Avinash and his sister Anjali, who lived in Govindpuram, Ghaziabad, their maternal uncle Devendra, a resident of Hapur, has filed a complaint in Kavinagar police station. Devendra Singh has alleged that Avinash and Anjali's mother Kamlesh also died after consuming poisonous substance. It is alleged that his sister died because she opposed her brother-in-law's love affair.
Just a year after Kamlesh's death, his brother-in-law married his girlfriend and brought her home. Both of them started exploiting his nephew Avinash and niece Anjali. Tired of this, both the siblings went to live in their aunt's house in Indirapuram. Devendra Singh has filed a complaint in Kavinagar police station accusing the deceased's father and stepmother of instigating his nephew and niece to commit suicide.
ACP Kavinagar Bhaskar Verma said that in the year 1995, Kamlesh, sister of Devendra Singh Jatav, resident of Navi Karim Chandi Road, Hapur district, was married to Sukhveer Singh, resident of Govindpuram. Even after marriage, Sukhveer Singh had a love affair with a girl from Meerut.
When Kamlesh protested, his brother-in-law used to beat him and harass him mentally and physically. In April 2007, his sister Kamlesh consumed poison under suspicious circumstances. She died during treatment.
Avinash and Anjali were children then, so they did not take any police action. It is said that after the death of his sister, Sukhveer Singh married his girlfriend and brought her home. Where Avinash and Anjali's step mother and their father Sukhveer Singh started mentally harassing both the siblings.
He started beating them over small issues. In such a situation, their elder sister, a resident of Indirapuram, took Avinash and Anjali to her home and raised them. After a long time, Sukhbir Singh brought them back to his home and started exploiting them.
It is alleged that the brother and sister were threatened that it would be better if they die the way their mother died. Tired of the harassment of their father and stepmother, both the brother and sister committed suicide. The victim has filed a complaint against Sukhveer Singh and his second wife.
Kavinagar ACP Bhaskar Verma says that the complaint has been received. The marriage took place in 1995 and Kamlesh Devi died in 2007 and the allegations have been made recently. These allegations will be investigated first. Legal action will be taken only after that.
'I have lost everything, how do I go home now?'
Sukhveer Singh, a resident of Ghaziabad's Govindpuram, was seen staring at the ground at the post-mortem house. When spoken to, he said that I have lost everything. How do I go home with the bodies of both my children? What is there in that house for me now? The child for whom I did not have children with my second wife, today she has disgraced me in the society.
The mother of both the children, Kamlesh, had committed suicide by consuming poison. He got married again to take care of the children. He persuaded his second wife not to have children. Both of them saw their future in their children.
The son was very promising and became an officer in the IB. Ritu and I also do government jobs. For whom are we earning? Now who is there to whom we can tell that we earned this? He told that both of us did ask Anjali for a government job but did not pressurize her.
She was working as a team leader in an export company in Noida. I don't know the reason for her suicide, why she did it, how it happened. I just know that after both the children died, I am now dead.
In the case of suicide of brother and sister, the suicide note of the girl has been found. She has shared some things. She has blamed her father and step mother for the suicide. The case is under investigation. Legal action will be taken. -Dhawal Jaiswal, DCP City
