Filming on has begun at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire with an epic cast.
Joining Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom are old MCU favourites like Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Paul Rudd's Ant-Man and Tom Hiddleston's Loki.
Meanwhile, three superhero teams, the New Avengers (Thunderbolts), the Fantastic Four, and the original 2000s X-Men cast, are set to feature.
Little is known about the plot, but given that the latter two teams are from alternate universes (as teased in and ), we'd presume a multiversal clash is coming.
And by the sound of it, it will be amongst each other, akin to Captain America Civil War.
Speaking with BuzzFeed UK, Nightcrawler star Alan Cumming let slip: "I'm learning these fights, and I'm like, 'What? Who am I fighting with?' And they say: 'You're hitting Pedro Pascal against the head, or something.' Pascal is playing Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four, so our best bet is that each superhero team will assume the other is an enemy. Thinking back to Avengers Infinity War, Marvel boss Kevin Feige said how the Avengers had to be divided after Civil War so that they'd lose to Thanos, before reteaming in Avengers Endgame for a big fight back.

With this in mind, we theorise that these multiversal Avengers will have a civil war while Downey Jr's Doom takes Loki's throne as God of Time at the TVA, where he's been holding all realities together. Doom will win and create Battleworld ahead of Avengers Secret Wars, where the universes clash together and the superheroes will have to work together (presumably also with another version of Iron Man) to defeat the villain.
Avengers Doomsday hits cinemas on May 1, 2026 and Avengers Secret Wars follows a year later.
