A British woman has died in Cambodia following an alleged knife attack, with reports claiming the suspect is a woman she was tangled in a love triangle with. Jessica Cariad Hopkins, 34, was found with multiple stab wounds in a park in Phnom Penh on Friday night, according to Cambodian authorities.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said it is supporting her family. A spokesperson said: "We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in Cambodia and are in contact with the local authorities."

Police in Phnom Penh said a woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The suspect, named as Kidikila Nganda Glodie, is believed to be from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

She was detained at a hair salon in the city's Daun Penh area on Saturday afternoon, about 1.5 miles from the scene of the killing, officials said.

Chuon Narin, police commissioner for Phnom Penh, confirmed the arrest and said early investigations suggest the motive may be linked to a personal dispute involving romantic jealousy.

Local reports said Ms Hopkins had been living in the city of Siem Reap and was staying temporarily in the Chroy Changvar district of Phnom Penh at a rented property.

She was found at around 11.40pm on August, 29 in the Chamkarmon district, The Sun reported.

Footage shared by Cambodian outlets showed the suspect being led away in handcuffs by officers.
