Parts of the UK are likely to experience hot conditions as the latest weather maps show temperature levels soaring to 22C in the coming days. Weather maps from Netweather.tv suggest that warmer conditions will make a return to the country before September ends.

The maps for September 29 show that areas around Norwich, Peterborough, Cambridge, Norfolk will be the worst impacted as the mercury levels rise to 22C. Other areas such as London, Luton, Oxford, Reading, Northampton, Gloucester and Coventry will sizzle at the highs of 21C. Parts of Bristol, Bath, Stratford upon Avon will see the mercury levels oscillating between 19 and 20C, the maps have suggested.

The weather conditions are likely to remain fairly warm even in the northern parts of the country. According to the weather maps, areas around Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth and Dundee will also see the temperature levels in the double digits with a possibility of 14 and 15C.

The sudden switch in the weather comes days after the Met Office issued a yellow warning for rain and wind for Wales and parts of England this weekend.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Matthew Lehnert, said: "Through this period, 20-30 mm of rain is expected to fall widely across Wales and northern England, with some locations perhaps seeing 60-80 mm. Where these higher rainfall amounts fall remains uncertain and it is possible that this warning may be updated if confidence increases, particularly if the heaviest rain falls in urban areas."

However, according to the Met Office, settled conditions will be around the country as we move into the next week. Most places are expected to become dry, although the far north of Scotland is likely to see further cloud and rain on Monday, and showers could be quite persistent for south-east Kent in particular until mid-week, the Met Office explained.

The Met Office's long-range forecast between September 24 and October 3 reads: "High pressure will dominate across many parts of the UK at first, leading to widely settled conditions and some patchy frost and fog at night.

"The main exception initially will be in East Anglia and southeast England, where showers will be possible, accompanied by a brisk breeze at times.

"These may ease later in the week, as low pressure over the North Atlantic attempts to push some cloud and patchy rain towards western and northwestern parts of the UK.

"Temperatures should gradually return closer to average. By early October, confidence in the overall weather patterns affecting the UK is very low, and whilst it may turn more changeable, the wettest conditions are most likely towards the west and northwest."
