Matheus Cunha's actions seconds after Man Utd's win over Chelsea speak volumes

Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha was ecstatic after the Reds' 2-1 triumph over Chelsea at Old Trafford, a clear indication of the significance of Saturday's result.

United appeared to be on course for a comfortable victory in the first half as they took full advantage of Chelsea's weaknesses. Robert Sanchez was awarded a red card early in the match after he fouled Bryan Mbeumo outside his penalty box.

Bruno Fernandes swiftly capitalised on Chelsea's misfortune before Casemiro doubled the lead before half-time. However, the dynamics of the match shifted when the Brazilian received his second yellow card.

Cunha's response could well have been a release from the mounting pressure on the team and especially on Ruben Amorim following last Sunday's derby loss to Manchester City. After facing scrutiny over his tactics and future on Friday, the win over Chelsea will undoubtedly quieten some of Amorim's detractors.

The next challenge for United and Amorim is to capitalise on this victory and inch closer to the top four, with a journey to Brentford up next in the Saturday lunchtime match.
