It's a busy week in tennis with the Shanghai Masters first round getting underway today, on the same day Jannik Sinner won the China Open against Learner Tien. The WTA event in Beijing is still ongoing with the final quarter-final ties set to be determined today and Brit Sonay Kartal hoping to be one of the final eight women at the tournament. Emma Raducanu is out but has enjoyed a nice jump up the rankings.
In men's tennis, Sinner cruised to another title against American Tien with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at the China National Tennis Center. His rival Carlos Alcaraz has pulled out of the Shanghai Masters after beating Taylor Fritz to the Japan Open title yesterday.
