Tesco makes major change to larger store opening hours on bank holiday

Tesco has made a major change to its opening hours this bank holiday Monday when it comes to its larger stores. The UK retailer has revealed its bank holiday opening times as many reduce the amount of hours in which shoppers can come into their stores for the day. Many supermarkets across the country will be closed earlier than usual on bank holiday Monday, May 5, but some will operate normal working hours.

Supermarket hours are affected on both days, including Tesco's larger stores. The supermarket has over 800 large stores in the UK that shoppers can visit, but they will need to be aware of times so they are not showing up to doors that are shut.

Large Tesco stores in the UK will be operate reduced hours this bank holiday, Monday, May 5. They will be open between 8am and 8pm, the supermarket has said.

However, Tesco's smaller convenience stores, such as Tesco Express, will operate their regular hours on bank holiday Monday, the same hours it was open on the Saturday and Sunday of the long weekend.

The chain's smaller stores will be open from between 6am and 7am and will close between 10pm and midnight, offering significantly longer opening hours compared to Tesco's larger stores.

Other supermarket chains in the UK have announced their bank holiday Monday opening hours for May 5. Most stores in the country will open from 8am-10pm.

Meanwhile, has confirmed that its opening hours will differ across the country during the early May Bank Holiday so customers will need to check their local one using Lidl's online store finder.

Most stores will keep their regular operating hours on the May 5 bank holiday Monday while will do the same.
