Mallorca is a popular destination for British tourists but it's often full with tourists and its beautiful beaches barely have a spot left for you to relax on. But, experts have shared one holiday hotspot that's similar and less busy, meaning you can enjoy a break without the crowds.
A new data study from travel expert Yasmin Peskel has revealed the destinations where travellers are still genuinely welcome. By analysing flight search trends, affordability, social media buzz, and signs of overtourism or protest activity, the research uncovers nine under-the-radar alternatives that deliver the same vibe: sun, sea, culture and nightlife, without the backlash.
Yasmin, from Blue Cruise, says Comporta in Portugal is the perfect swap for Mallorca in Spain. Mallorca and Comporta both offer coastal beauty, boho-chic vibes, and upscale beach retreats.
Mallorca's overcrowding and rising protest sentiment contrast with Comporta's quiet, low-density luxury.
Culture Trip says: "Swerve the Algarve's packed-out tourist traps and find your own piece of Portuguese paradise in this wildly beautiful beach town, an hour's drive from Lisbon.
"Surrounded by verdant rice fields, pine forests and the wild Atlantic coast, the area is adored by under-the-radar celebrities seeking a bolthole."
While you're there, there's a huge range of things to do and see such as visiting stunning beaches, surfing, boat tours and even a day trip to Lisbon if you have time.

Bon Traveller says Comporta is Portugal's best secret beach town.
Overtourism protests in parts of Mallorca last summer put some UK visitors off visiting the famously sunny and affordable Balearic climes.
With ongoing overtourism discussions, many Brits are still seeking alternative destinations with Comporta offering an ideal option.
