
A much-loved animated is about to disappear from , leaving fans just hours to stream it before it's gone. The Grinch, the 2018 animated comedy based on , is set to leave the platform on June 1, according to .
The , officially titled , was produced by and Universal Pictures, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of the grumpy green character who tries to ruin for the people of Whoville. The film was a huge hit on release, grossing over $540 million (£400m) worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing of all time.
Directed by Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney, The Grinch is the third screen adaptation of the original 1957 book, following the 1966 animated special and the 2000 live-action version starring Jim Carrey.
The 2018 version features a modern twist, vibrant animation, and a new score by Danny Elfman, with a standout song by Tyler, the Creator.
It features an all-star cast including Rashida Jones, Kenan Thompson, Angela Lansbury and Pharrell Williams as the narrator.
In the UK version, Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo also voices a character named Mrs. Toffee Apple.
While the film received mixed reviews from critics, with a 60% score on , audiences loved it.
One viewer wrote: "Awesome, it's a must-see movie."
Another said: "My to-go Christmas movie. It's a beautifully animated and heart-warming story. You can watch it not as a remake but as an original piece."
A third added: "A gorgeous film from top to bottom; the details pop. A total feast for the eyes."

Others were even more emotional, with one person writing: "I cried like a baby. It took me until 2023 to even watch this movie and it blew me away!

Despite the praise, Netflix UK will remove The Grinch along with other seasonal titles like The Holiday and the 2000 live-action Grinch film titled 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'.
Fans hoping to squeeze in one last festive viewing have until the end of May to do so.
