This Morning presenter Jake Quickenden has been rushed to hospital after sustaining a painful injury during a "nightmare" accident while taking part in a boat race. This weekend, the I'm A Celebrity star has been taking part in the Yukon 1000 boat race, which is the longest paddle race in the world, when he found himself in a sticky situation. Jake and his partner were forced to pull out of the race after the dad-of-two ended up injured.
On Saturday (July 12), the 36-year-old took to Instagram to update his loyal legion of fans to share his terrible incident as he showed off his bandaged hand online. He wrote: "So gutted... Started well, got into trouble, set back off, got into more trouble!!
"Sometimes you have to remember you have kids and it's bes to not push when luck isn't on your side Just at hospital getting an x-ray and me and Matt are both fine."
Hours later, he shared a snap of himself with his left arm in a sling and a red plaster cast. Jake captioned the post: "Will update with the nightmare we had... but we are both safe and literally all that matters. It was going great until it wasn't."
The Yukon1000 Instagram account also shared some behind-the-scenes clips of the duo on their official Instagram account as they waited in hospital. In the video, Jake was heard asking: "Why aleays me? Why always us?"
Matt then claimed: "Well, as you see smiles on our faces, both gutted to have withdrawn the way we have. But it is what it is. We're both safe. We're both going home to our families."

Explaining why they had to withdraw, Jake added: "So that's the main thing. Like we felt like we had a great star. We was buzzing with how quickly we went off.
"We got into a bit of trouble, then the boat broke, then we got stuck in a storm, then we set off again thinking we were on it again, and then we got into more trouble. Amd I'm just about to have an x-ray."
The X Factor star tied the knot with his wife Sophie Church back in 2022 and now share two children together. They welcomed their first son Leo back in 2021 before Sophie gave birth to their six-month-old son Kit in January this year.
