fans are counting down to the launch of update 34.30 on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Android and Nintendo Switch. In a post on X, Fortnite developer confirmed that update 34.30 has a Tuesday, April 8, release date.
Needless to say, it will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which has a 9am BST start time for fans living in the UK. "Downtime for v34.30 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand," reads an Epic Games tweet. As you can see from the Epic Games tweet, matchmaking will be disabled before the start of the server downtime. This means you'll be unable to join a new game close to 9am, so login early if you fancy a match in the morning.
In terms of what fans can expect, the headline news is that pop star Sabrina Carpenter is being added as the Fortnite Festival Season 8 Icon.
Epic explains more: "Global superstar and two-time GRAMMY winner Sabrina Carpenter brings her eccentric brand of pop to Fortnite Festival Season 8.
"Unlock her "Juno" and "Nonsense" Jam Tracks in the Season 8 Music Pass and find more of her tracks in the Shop! That's that Season 8 Icon, Sabrina: there'll be a Sabrina Carpenter Outfit in both the Music Pass and Shop."
In addition to Sabrina Carpenter, the new Fortnite update is expected to introduce an Adventure Time collaboration, as well as new Star Wars leaks ahead of the rumoured Star Wars season.
According to insiders such as Shiina, fans can also expect new maps and items to join Ballistic mode.
That's on top of the usual selection of gameplay tweaks and bug fixes, the first of which you can read about in the early patch notes below.
