Prayagraj: The post-mortem report of a three-and-a-half-year-old nursery student — who died at a private school in Prayagraj's Trans Yamuna area after allegedly being slapped by teachers for crying — has revealed that he suffered injuries near his eyebrow and on his tongue.
DCP (Yamuna Nagar) Vivek Yadav told TOI, "Cops are probing the case thoroughly and examining all facts and scientific evidence (circumstantial, chemical, and biological) related to the incident."
He, however, added, "The school has no CCTV network, and we are questioning other school staff to compile more information."
Following the mysterious death of the nursery student, an FIR was already registered with the Naini police station against the two teachers. The cops have also recorded the statements of both the teachers. Police also claimed that the boy did not attend school on May 14 because he was ill, and his father dropped him to school on May 15 (the day of the incident).
According to the family, the boy was crying in the class and was further taken to his elder brother's classroom by a teacher. When another teacher arrived in his brother's classroom, she slapped the child for crying. The family claimed that the school authorities informed his father that his son was unwell, prompting him to rush to the school. The child was subsequently taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. "A detailed probe is underway to link the exact sequence of events," said a senior cop, adding, "Police will take legal action accordingly once the probe is completed," he added.
