Cops conduct flag march to ensure law and order

Kanpur: Commissioner of Police Akhil Kumar and Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Harish Chander conducted a flag march in the Sadbhavna Chowki area of Beconganj police station with force and necessary equipment. This was following the approval of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and in view of Friday prayers, to assess the law and order and security situation.

The senior officers briefed the local police force about maintaining heightened vigilance, especially around places of worship and crowded areas. They emphasised the importance of quick response times and proper coordination among different police units. The force was directed to keep communication channels open with community leaders and local representatives.

Police teams were instructed to monitor social media platforms for any misleading information or provocative content. Special attention was given to verifying and countering false rumours that could disturb peace in the area. The senior officers also met with local shopkeepers and residents, requesting their cooperation in maintaining peace. They encouraged the installation of CCTV cameras in commercial areas and proper lighting in dimly lit streets. The public was advised to use the emergency helpline numbers to report any suspicious activities. Additional police pickets were established at crucial intersections, and mobile patrols were increased in residential areas. The force was directed to conduct regular security checks whilst ensuring minimal inconvenience to the public. Officers were instructed to maintain a professional yet approachable demeanour whilst dealing with civilians. The authorities emphasised that strict action would be taken against anyone trying to disrupt peace and harmony in the area. Regular updates about the security situation were shared with the police headquarters to ensure proper monitoring of the situation.
