Jasmine Bhasin says that she was extremely anxious during the India-Pakistan conflict as her parents were in Rajasthan, while her boyfriend Aly Goni’s family was in Jammu. She and Aly, too, were away from each other due to work.
‘ Aly’s family relocated to another city close to Jammu briefly’
Jasmin, who will soon be seen in the Punjabi film Carry On Jattiye, shares, “Yes, there were blackouts and drills happening in both states. Our generation had never seen something like this before. I would talk to my parents every day and get a lowdown, and it was the same with Aly. In fact, Aly’s family relocated to another city, Doda, close to Jammu briefly because there were kids in the house. Through the week, both Aly and I were keeping each other calm.”
‘I have been visiting Kashmir regularly for the last seven years’
Expressing her appreciation for the government and Armed Forces, she says, “Thanks to them, we could sleep peacefully, and our families are safe. I have so much gratitude for the way our Armed Forces protected us. We, as a country, have shown strength.” Asked whether she would consider visiting Kashmir soon, Jasmin answered, “Why not? Yes, I will visit Kashmir soon, it is my country, and I can go wherever I want to. I have been visiting Kashmir regularly for the last seven years. Kashmiri people are lovely. They have only love to offer, especially to tourists. We are not going to live in fear. It is a beautiful part of our country, so why shouldn’t we visit?”
