IPL 2025 final to be played in Ahmedabad: Report

According to Cricbuzz, the Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI ) is expected to schedule the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3. While there has been no official confirmation, the report says the decision was made during recent internal BCCI meetings, with weather conditions playing a key role in the proposed venue selection for the playoff matches.

If confirmed, the Narendra Modi Stadium would also host Qualifier 2 on June 1, setting the stage for two of the most crucial fixtures of the tournament in Ahmedabad.

The report also says that the playoff matches - Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator - are likely to be played at the new stadium in Mullanpur , New Chandigarh, on May 29 and May 30, respectively.


The BCCI is believed to have taken the approaching monsoon season into account while considering these venue shifts, with the aim of ensuring minimal weather related disruption during the decisive stages of the tournament.

Originally, Kolkata's Eden Gardens was slated to host the IPL final. However, with increasing concerns over rain and scheduling complications, it is understood that Ahmedabad is being considered as a more weather-resilient alternative.
