RCB new joinee reflects on 'weird' IPL 2025 since the rescheduling

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have already qualified for the 2025 IPL playoffs. While RCB have the third-most playoff appearances (10) among all IPL teams in history, the stars appeared to be frustrated with the rescheduling of the IPL and moreover, the fact the RCB's home ground - M.Chinnaswamy Stadium will not host their final game of the league stage.

Originally, both of RCB's games following the restart were set to be played at the Chinnaswamy . However, the fact that RCB vs Kolkata Knight Riders was abandoned without a single ball being bowled made the organisers rethink.

As a result, Bengaluru's final home game of the league campaign was shifted to Lucknow, and will now be played at Ekana Cricket Stadium. In a recent video released on the team's official X account, new joinee Mayank Agarwal voiced his concerns on the change in venue.

While the fact that the Chinnaswamy being prone to rainfall looms large, the new RCB man, brought in as a replacement for the injured Devdutt Padikkal, felt that the decision was a bit strange. "Well, its been very weird actually. Just go to Lucknow and then came back and thought, okay, we can resume and get things going, but then you know, rain."

While the rain doubled down, hampering training sessions outdoors, Agarwal mentioned that the Pickleball tournament organised by the club is keeping all their players active and competitive, albeit in another sport. Pictures of Virat Kohli and Anuhska Sharma becoming teammates for the tournament had earlier gone viral on social media.

Who's that IPL player?

While Bengaluru take to the revised venue at the Ekana to play Sunrisers Hyderabad with the confidence that the result does not affect their season, Agarwal expressed his disappointment at the fans not being able to see them play at home one last time this season.
