Miguel Cabrera’s name is back in the headlines, not for his baseball stats, but for a major life update. The former Detroit Tigers star quietly listed and sold his lakeside Michigan mansion soon after his 20-year marriage to Rosangel Cabrera officially ended. But what caught everyone’s attention wasn’t just the timing, it was the mansion’s unique hidden features.

Miguel Cabrera’s Michigan mansion sold after divorce from Rosangel Cabrera

Just one day after his divorce was finalized, Miguel Cabrera listed his Grosse Pointe Farms property in Wayne County, Michigan, on June 19, 2024. Shortly after, the amazing $3.48 million homes were sold; it attracted interest not only for its exquisite design but also for its notable features. Six bedrooms, eight full baths, and three half baths define the mansion set on 2.43 acres along Lake St. Clair.

A hidden game room accessible via a secret door disguised as a bookshelf is among the most frequently discussed amenities. Six fireplaces, a swimming pool, greenhouse, and solarium are among other conveniences. Miguel Cabrera bought the house under Fox Hill Estate LLC, a business linked to him, for $3. 2 million in 2015.

The mansion sale came shortly after Miguel Cabrera’s divorce from his longtime wife, Rosangel Cabrera, was finalized. The two had been married since 2002. According to court records, Rosangel initially filed for divorce in 2017 but later changed her mind. In 2024, she filed again, stating that the marriage has “irretrievably broken.”

Rosangel Cabrera had supported Miguel throughout his long MLB career. The 12-time All-Star and two-time MVP earned around $393 million in contracts, most of it with the Detroit Tigers, according to Sportrac. He officially retired at the end of the 2023 season and now works as a special assistant to Tigers President of Baseball Operations, Scott Harris.

Miguel Cabrera’s real estate agent, Maureen Francis, told Crain’s Detroit Business that the mansion’s location and design were perfect for privacy and family living. She described the house as “cozy and beautifully done” despite its massive size.

This was Miguel Cabrera’s second major real estate sale in Michigan. Back in 2016, he sold another luxury property in Birmingham, which he had used during the playing season to stay close to Detroit.
