Young Bucks Return at Dynasty, Help Jon Moxley Retain AEW Title

Send Push
AEW Dynasty closed with one of the most chaotic main events fans have seen in a long time. Jon Moxley defended his AEW World Championship against Swerve Strickland in a match that quickly turned upside-down and intense. The action was non-stop, and just when it seemed like Strickland might win, a shocking twist changed everything.

The surprise return of The Young Bucks became the major headline of the night. With multiple wrestlers interfering, a referee down, and fans on their feet, the Bucks appeared out of nowhere and turned the match in Moxley’s favor. What started as a title match ended as a wild fight that no one saw coming.

An intense showdown with nonstop action

Swerve Strickland gave Moxley a tough fight, looking to win the AEW World Championship for a second time. The match went on for over 30 minutes and included interference from several wrestlers. The Death Riders, who earlier defended their Trios titles, came to help Moxley. Strickland got backup too, with Samoa Joe, Hook, and others running in to balance the fight.

During the match, Moxley tried to use a steel chair on Strickland but accidentally hit the referee instead. With no one to make the count, the match became even more intense. Strickland hit his big move, the "Swerve Stomp", and had the crowd behind him, but without a referee, it did not matter.

Young Buck's return changed everything

That’s when the lights in the arena went out. When they came back on, The Young Bucks were standing in the ring for the first time since October. The fans were shocked, and their return instantly changed the direction of the match.

‘Hangman’ Adam Page walked down the ramp and stood on the edge of the ring, looking like he was about to hit Strickland with his Buckshot Lariat move. But then he looked at Moxley and seemed unsure about what to do. While he hesitated, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Wheeler Yuta showed up and took him out of the situation. Joe came out with Hook and Katsuyori Shibata to help out. They teamed up with Page and fought the Death Riders to clear the area around the ring.

Strickland climbed to the top rope and hit a Swerve Stomp, hoping to win the match, but there was no referee there to count the pin. Then the lights went out. When they came back on, the Young Bucks were in the ring, holding Strickland by his arms to hit their BTE Trigger move. Moxley slowly crawled over, pinned Strickland, and kept his AEW World Title, then left the ring while the Young Bucks posed separately in the crowd.

Having not been seen in AEW since October, the Young Bucks returned during the main event of Dynasty last night.

Unfortunately for Swerve Strickland, the Young Bucks hit him with their BTE Trigger, which in turn allowed Jon Moxley to pin Swerve and continue his reign of terror and continue to hold the AEW World Championship hostage.
