Google launches AI-Powered ad tools for Indian marketers

Google unveiled a suite of artificial intelligence-powered advertising solutions at its Marketing Live India event, targeting the complex, multi-screen consumer journey that has become increasingly non-linear. The tech giant announced that ads will appear in AI Overviews for Indian users later this year, alongside new creative generation tools and campaign optimization features .

Early adopters including Cashify and Swiggy are already seeing significant results. Cashify reported a 15% increase in conversions using AI Max for Search , while Swiggy reduced re-engagement costs by nearly two-thirds through Performance Max Retention Mode testing.


AI takes center stage in creative production

The company's "Generated for You" feature, launching later this year in Product Studio, will automatically create brand-aligned images and videos by analyzing merchant catalogs and trending campaign concepts. This builds on advertiser adoption of Google AI for creative generation, which has surged over 250% in the past year.

AI Max for Search, now available in India, offers one-click campaign enhancement by learning from brand landing pages, ads, and keywords to display ads at optimal moments. Meanwhile, Smart Bidding Exploration represents Google's biggest bidding update in over a decade, helping campaigns achieve an average 18% increase in unique search query categories with conversions.

New shopping and measurement capabilities
Google is expanding shoppable experiences across Connected TV and YouTube's Masthead placement, allowing viewers to discover and engage with products directly through QR codes and "send to phone" options. The platform is also introducing agentic AI capabilities in Google Ads and Analytics, providing automated campaign setup, personalized recommendations, and proactive insights.

Roma Datta Chobey, Managing Director of Digital First Businesses at Google India, emphasized how these tools help marketers "move from responding to market dynamics to being able to get ahead of them," particularly as 80% of Gen Z relies on Google Search for shopping decisions.
