KULLU: Torrential rain since Saturday night triggered flash floods and landslides in several parts of Himachal Pradesh Sunday, with Mandi and Kullu districts bearing the brunt. The deluge washed away and buried many houses, blocked over 300 roads, including national highways, and disrupted power and water supply. However, no loss of life was reported.
In Mandi district, flash floods in Takoli, Panarsa, and Nagwain swept away a stretch of Chandigarh-Manali NH, damaged houses and agricultural land, and inundated the fruit and grain market in Takoli. In Aut, waves of flash floods washed away three houses and buried three more in debris.
In Kullu district, flash floods hit Dehra Nullah, damaging two houses and a shop in Pirdi. Debris blocked Kullu-Bhuntar road.
