'Return Rs 30 lakh you owe me': Firing in broad daylight outside property dealer's office in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Bike-borne assailants opened fire outside a property dealer's office in east Delhi's Mayur Vihar and set his car ablaze on Saturday, allegedly because he owed Rs 30 lakh to a person.

Property dealer Sanjay Tosh was not present when shots were fired outside his office in Trilokpuri area of Mayur Vihar, according to news agency PTI.

As many as six empty bullet shells and a note which mentioned the property dealer's name were recovered from the spot.

"Sanjay Tosh, either return my Rs 30 lakh or shut down the gambling business. Give me the money I won, or stop the gambling business at your house," the note read.

Reportedly, the note also had the property dealer's picture on it.

"We received a PCR call at 3:45 pm regarding a car being set on fire. A team reached the spot and found that a white car was set on fire and its glasses were broken. We also recovered six empty shells from the spot," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Vineet Kumar said.

Police are scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the accused and ascertain the sequence of events.

A case has been registered and efforts are underway to trace and nab the attackers, the police said.
