NEW DELHI: At a time when NCERT has come under criticism over textbook revisions , Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday expressed confidence that the council will drive educational reforms , bringing a paradigm shift in teaching and learning.
Endorsing NCERT's efforts in taking forward reforms envisioned in NE, Pradhan described it as not merely an institution but a 'Gyan Kumbh' that has shaped generations of Indians.
Speaking at its 65th Foundation Day, Pradhan said NCERT must now embrace a reform-oriented and tech-driven role to lead India's education transformation. "...Since inception, it has traversed a long distance, particularly in nation-building through education. Today, it must embrace its role as a change leader and also don a new avatar-one that is reform oriented, tech-driven and focused on best practices," he said.
Pradhan exuded confidence that NCERT will "bring a paradigm shift in teaching and learning and play a key role in actualising the goal of Samridhh Bharat ." "Confident that NCERT will continue shaping critical and creative thinking in the 'Amrit Peedhi'," he said.
