Hotmail outage hits users worldwide

Users in the United Kingdom, United States, India, Canada, Germany, and several other countries have reported difficulties accessing Hotmail services. Outage tracking sites like DownDetector show that the problem spans major cities including London, New York, Toronto, Delhi, and Sydney. Both mobile and desktop versions appear to be affected. Some users are completely locked out, while others are seeing notifications that their credentials are incorrect, despite entering the right information.


Login failures, glitches — and still no fix

Many frustrated users have taken to Reddit, X (formerly Twitter), and other platforms to vent their concerns. A majority say they are receiving constant prompts to re-enter passwords or are being shown license errors. According to DownDetector, 53% of issues relate to Outlook access, 37% to login problems, and 11% to server connection issues. Microsoft, which operates Hotmail under the broader Outlook platform, has remained silent, providing no details on what caused the disruption or when services might resume. For now, users are being urged to avoid frequent password resets and to monitor official Microsoft support pages for updates.
