After Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was spotted with an office colleague in a viral video at a Coldplay concert in Boston, the company is now being called out on social media for its toxic work culture as social media users pointed out that there was another person from their company who was seen smiling in the video. The person was in the know of the "alleged" affair, users concluded.
Astronomer has not issued any statement amid the ongoing controversy. Neither the CEO, nor Kristin Cabot, the HR who was in the embrace of the married CEO, made any statements -- as speculations, allegations ran wild.
When Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot were shown in the big screen at the Boston concert with Chris Martin's tongue-in-cheek comment, Cabot hid her face and Byron ducked the camera. But another woman was seen smiling in shock. According to an X user, the woman is Alyssa Stoddard, who is also an employee of Astronomer. The post alleged that she was recently promoted by Kristin Cabot.
A LinkedIn post by Cabot was pointed out in which Cabot announced Stoddard's promotion to VP of People at Astronomer. "I've had the true privilege of working with Alyssa at four different companies over the years - and every time, she has brought an extraordinary mix of empathy, operational excellence and unwavering integrity," she wrote in the LinkedIn post.
Social media users concluded that Alyssa was privy to the alleged 'secret' affair.
"Does anyone else know of a more toxic workplace?" the X post said.
"Seems like a pretty toxic culture being formed there. How is the (married) head of HR going to be having an affair with the (married) CEO on a work outing and tag along with the person she recently promoted (who is obviously in on it)? You guys are gross," one comment on LinkedIn said.
