The hearing on the anticipatory bail plea of Srikrishna J. Rao, accused of deceiving a fellow student under the pretext of marriage, was conducted at the Sixth Additional District and Sessions Court in Mangaluru on Thursday.
The victim’s mother appeared before the court and informed the judge that her daughter had recently delivered a baby just three days ago and is currently hospitalised, making it impossible for her to be present for the hearing. She strongly urged the court not to grant bail to the accused.
The public prosecutor requested additional time to file a written objection regarding the plea. After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge postponed the bail hearing to July 10.
