New Delhi: Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas made her singing comeback with the desi version of ‘Last Christmas’ for Gurinder Chadha’s upcoming film ‘Christmas Karma.’
Ahead of the film’s November 14 release, the makers dropped Priyanka’s track, which has the same music as George Michael’s original Last Christmas, but with Hindi lyrics.
However, Priyanka’s desi twist in the original ‘Last Christmas’ failed to impress netizens, and they took to social media to troll her.
Under a viral Reddit thread featuring the song, one user wrote, “Butchering one of the most iconic Christmas songs ever. George Michael is rolling in his grave. 😭.”
Another user agreed, saying, “George Michael crying in his grave.”
One person commented, “It’s 2025, for God’s sake! Can we still not write better translated lyrics for copied English songs?! 😭.”
Another netizen wrote, “Ya toh pura gaana English mai gaa lo ya toh phir Hindi mai 😭.”
One of Priyanka’s fans shared, “I love pc!!! But no amount of love can change my mind that she needs to stop singing 😭😭😭,” while another fan expressed, “I love Priyanka, but no no no no no!”

Before shifting her base to Hollywood, Priyanka released her first single ‘In My City’, also featuring American rapper will.i.am. in 2012, which received mixed reviews.
Her second single ‘Exotic’, with Pitbull, became a chartbuster.
After lending her voice to songs in films such as ‘Mary Kom’ and ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, Priyanka took a break from singing.
Her latest track is a part of Kunal Nayyar, Eva Longoria, Billy Porter and Boy George’s starrer ‘Christmas Karma.’
Priyanka is also making a comeback to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film, tentatively titled SSMB29, alongside Mahesh Babu.
