PATNA, India April 16, 2025: A sharp hike in petrol and diesel prices has taken Bihar by surprise, impacting consumers across several districts. The spike, with the steepest increase recorded in Rohtas district, is triggering concerns about rising fuel costs amid inflationary pressures.

Steep Price Increase in Rohtas, Major Hikes Across Key Districts

In Rohtas, petrol prices surged by ₹0.67 to ₹106.79 per liter, while diesel rates climbed by ₹0.63, reaching ₹93.55 per liter. The fuel price hike isn’t isolated—several districts including Gaya, Ara, Gopalganj, and Sahrasa have seen petrol prices touch or exceed ₹106 per liter.

Here’s a quick glance at the updated petrol rates in key districts:

  • Ara: ₹106.94

  • Gaya: ₹106.28

  • Gopalganj: ₹106.94

  • Saharsa: ₹106.09

  • Supaul: ₹106.73

Diesel prices also saw a noticeable rise:

  • Ara: ₹93.76

  • Gaya: ₹93.08

  • Gopalganj: ₹93.75

  • Shivhar: ₹93.31

  • Purnia: ₹93.80

Relief in Some Districts: Minor Decline in Fuel Prices

While the majority of districts reported an increase, some areas witnessed marginal price drops. For instance:

  • Patna: Petrol now at ₹105.34/liter, Diesel at ₹92.19/liter

  • Begusarai: Petrol ₹104.97/liter, Diesel ₹91.82/liter

  • Bhagalpur: Petrol ₹106.02/liter, Diesel ₹92.81/liter

In Kishanganj, despite the general trend, petrol remains stable at ₹106.93/liter and diesel at ₹93.80/liter.
