Western Railway Introduces Tejas Superfast Special Train Between Mumbai Central and Rajkot for Summer Travel

Mumbai, April 19, 2025 In an effort to accommodate the surge in travel demand during the summer season, Western Railway has announced a special superfast Tejas Express service between Mumbai Central and Rajkot, operating on special fare. This seasonal move is designed to provide enhanced comfort and convenience to long-distance travelers across Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Tejas Superfast Special Train Details

According to an official release from Western Railway’s Public Relations Department, the Mumbai Central–Rajkot Tejas Superfast Special will run with the following schedule:

Train No. 09005 Mumbai Central–Rajkot Superfast Tejas Special will operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, departing from Mumbai Central at 11:20 PM and arriving at Rajkot at 11:45 AM the next day. This service will run from April 21 to May 28, 2025.

Train No. 09006 Rajkot–Mumbai Central Superfast Tejas Special will run every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, departing from Rajkot at 6:30 PM and reaching Mumbai Central at 7:30 AM the next morning. The return journey will be in effect from April 22 to May 29, 2025.

Route and Halts

This superfast train will halt at the following major stations in both directions:

  • Borivali

  • Vapi

  • Surat

  • Vadodara

  • Anand

  • Ahmedabad

  • Viramgam

  • Surendranagar

  • Wankaner

Class and Booking

The train will consist of First AC, AC 2-Tier, and AC 3-Tier coaches, ensuring a comfortable journey for passengers across all categories.

Bookings for Train Nos. 09005 and 09006 are currently open via all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and the IRCTC website.
