Maruti Suzuki Cars to Get Costlier from April 8: Price Hike Across Models from Fronx to Grand Vitara

Send Push

New Delhi April 7, 2025: India’s largest passenger car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, is set to implement a price hike across its vehicle lineup starting April 8, marking the third increase in 2025. Following hikes in January and February, this latest move will see prices rise by ₹2,500 to ₹62,500, depending on the model.

The company attributes this increase to rising input costs, regulatory changes, operational expenses, and feature enhancements. Despite cost optimization efforts, Maruti Suzuki stated in a regulatory filing that it is compelled to pass on a part of the burden to customers.

Which Maruti Suzuki Models Will See a Price Increase?

Here’s a breakdown of the latest model-wise price hike:

  • Maruti Suzuki Fronx: ₹2,500 increase

  • Dzire Tour S (cab version): ₹3,000 increase

  • Ertiga & XL6 MPVs: ₹12,500 increase

  • Wagon R: ₹14,000 increase

  • Eeco Van: ₹22,500 increase

  • Grand Vitara: ₹62,000 increase

Notably, the Grand Vitara—the brand’s flagship SUV—will see the steepest hike, reflecting its premium positioning and new features.

Why Maruti Suzuki Is Raising Prices Again

In its official statement, the automaker highlighted multiple contributing factors:

  • Increased input and raw material costs

  • Compliance with new regulations

  • Introduction of advanced features

  • Higher operational overheads

Maruti Suzuki emphasized its ongoing commitment to affordability but admitted some cost pressures are unavoidable in today’s dynamic automotive landscape.

Impact on Buyers

With this adjustment effective April 8, potential buyers may rush to lock in lower prices ahead of the increase. This hike also suggests future pricing volatility in the automotive sector as OEMs continue to navigate inflationary trends, supply chain constraints, and regulatory demands.
