Ubisoft Unveils Second Story Expansion and Confirms Star Wars Outlaws’ Nintendo Switch 2 Arrival

Los Angeles – Ubisoft has officially announced the release date for Star Wars Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune, the much-anticipated second story expansion for the open-world action-adventure game. The DLC will launch on May 15, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.S, following a leaked trailer that surfaced ahead of schedule.

Alongside the DLC reveal, Ubisoft also confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws will debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4, 2025, expanding the galaxy-spanning adventure to a new platform.

A Pirate’s Fortune: DLC Story and Features

The new expansion picks up after the events of the main game, with protagonist Kay Vess and her loyal companion Nyx venturing into the Khepi system. Teaming up with iconic pirate Hondo Ohnaka, the duo races to uncover ancient secrets buried within the mysterious Khepi Tomb.

Key features of the DLC include:

• New Smuggling Missions from the Miyuki Trade League

• Exclusive rewards and upgrades for the Trailblazer

• Cosmetic packs including Naboo Nobility and Desert Nomad outfits

• Themed content from Star Wars: Skeleton Crew included in the update

The expansion will be automatically included for Season Pass, Ultimate, and Deluxe Edition holders, while other players can purchase it separately.

Free Demo and Nintendo Switch 2 Launch

In addition to the expansion, Ubisoft has released a free three-hour demo of Star Wars Outlaws, now permanently available on all major platforms. The demo offers early access to a portion of the base game, giving newcomers a taste of the Outer Rim’s outlaw action.

Meanwhile, fans on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 can mark their calendars—Star Wars Outlaws releases on the platform September 4, just over a year after its original debut on August 30, 2024. The Switch 2 version was confirmed during Nintendo’s Direct event on April 2, showcasing enhanced visuals and optimizations tailored for the new console.
