Mumbai, April 18 In a thrilling contest at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians registered a much-needed 4-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 33rd match of IPL 2025, thanks to an all-round performance by England’s Will Jacks.

Sunrisers Set Target with Decent Start

Batting first after losing the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a competitive total of 162/5 in 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma (40) and Travis Head (28) provided a brisk opening stand, but the momentum dipped in the middle overs. A late flourish by Heinrich Klaasen (37*) pushed the score past 160.

For Mumbai, Will Jacks starred with the ball, delivering a tight spell of 3 overs for just 14 runs and picking up two vital wickets. He was well supported by Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and Hardik Pandya, who picked one wicket apiece.

Mumbai’s Chase: Calm Under Pressure

In reply, Mumbai Indians got off to a solid start with Rohit Sharma (26) and Ryan Rickelton (31) adding valuable runs. But SRH skipper Pat Cummins brought his side back into the contest with a fiery spell, removing key batters Suryakumar Yadav and Will Jacks to finish with 3 wickets.

Despite the mini-collapse, Tilak Varma anchored the innings with an unbeaten 21, while Hardik Pandya’s quick 21 ensured Mumbai crossed the finish line in 18.1 overs at 166/6.
