An autorickshaw driver who was severely injured in a recent collision with a car has passed away during treatment at Manipal Hospital. The incident took place on Saturday morning, April 5.
The deceased, identified as Gopal, had sustained serious injuries to his head, face, chest, and legs. Despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his injuries early Saturday morning, sources confirmed.
The accident occurred around 7 PM on Thursday, April 3, at the Mullikatte Junction. Both the autorickshaw driver Gopal and a passenger in the car, identified as Chandra, were injured in the collision. Gopal was initially admitted to a private hospital in Kundapura and was later shifted to Manipal for advanced treatment.
A case has been registered at the Gangolli police station against the car driver, Sumanth, under BNS Sections 281 and 125A.
